WHO Office in Sierra Leone involved in hands washing promotion against coronavirus

All the materials and training to properly wash hands that we have provided to orphanages in Sierra Leone as part of the “Soap Bubbles Against Coronavirus” initiative continue to be crucial in the prevention of diseases such as coronavirus. We therefore very much welcome the similar initiative just undertaken by the WHO.
The WHO Office in Sierra Leone, in fact, supports state institutions in the fight against COVID-19 with the donation of hand washing, soap and face masks to the relevant Sierra Leonean Ministry

The “Soap bubbles against coronavirus” initiative arrived at Christian on Mission and Extension (COME), Sierra Leone

The initiative “Soap bubble against Coronavirus” arrived at Christian on Mission and Extension (COME), at Kwama village, off Waterloo, Western Area Rural district of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.
To prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19 between the children of this orphanage, the team of young volunteers of R-Evolution provided training and everything needed to wash hands properly, including the most obvious but often also the least available.
The intervention has been conducted with the relevant Sierra Leone’s Ministry (MSWGCA).
The orphanage was founded in the early 2000s by Gibrilla Kamara to provide a safe home for abandoned and often abused street children, orphaned after the civil war before the Ebola outbreak after, and to provide for their growth, education, family reunification where possible, and inclusion in society.
L’iniziativa “Bolla di sapone contro il Coronavirus” è arrivata al Christian on Mission and Extension (COME) home for children, nel villaggio di Kwama, fuori Waterloo, nella zona rurale di Freetown, capitale della Sierra Leone, Africa Occidentale.
Il team di giovani volontari di R-Evolution ha fornito sia le spiegazioni che tutto il necessario per lavarsi le mani correttamente, incluso ciò che può sembrare il più ovvio ma che spesso è anche il meno disponibile, per prevenire la diffusione di malattie infettive come il covid-19 tra i bambini di questo orfanotrofio. L’intervento è stato condotto con il competente Ministero della Sierra Leone (MSWGCA).
L’orfanotrofio è stato fondato nei primi anni 2000 da Gibrilla Kamara per fornire una casa sicura ai bambini abbandonati per strada e spesso abusati, rimasti orfani dopo la guerra civile prima o l’epidemia di Ebola dopo, e provvedere alla loro crescita, educazione, ricongiungimento familiare dove possibile, ed inserimento nella società.

The initiative “Soap bubble against Coronavirus” arrived at Komra Golden Kids Home, at York Road in Waterloo, in the rural area of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.

To prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19 between the children of this orphanage, the team of young volunteers of R-Evolution provided training and everything needed to wash hands properly, including the most obvious but often also the least available.

The intervention has been conducted with the relevant Sierra Leone’s Ministry (MSWGCA).

The home was established in 2007 by Emma Kamara. Madam Emma is already mother of many children, but she always wanted to care and help other children as it is in the culture of Sierra Leone a family can give birth to a child but it takes the whole community or village to raise the child as it every one’s responsibility to care for each other’s children.

Il team di giovani volontari di R-Evolution ha fornito sia le spiegazioni che tutto il necessario per lavarsi le mani correttamente, incluso ciò che può sembrare il più ovvio ma che spesso è anche il meno disponibile, per prevenire la diffusione di malattie infettive come il covid-19 tra i bambini di questo orfanotrofio. L’orfanotrofio è stata fondata nel 2007 da Emma Kamara. La signora Emma è già madre di molti bambini, ma ha sempre voluto prendersi cura e aiutare gli altri bambini in quanto è nella cultura della Sierra Leone che una famiglia può dare alla luce un bambino ma ci vuole l’intera comunità o villaggio per crescere il bambino così come è la responsabilità di ognuno di prendersi cura dei figli degli altri.

The initiative “Soap bubble against Coronavirus” arrived at Savior of the World Children’s Home, at Fire Mambo in Waterloo, in the rural area of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.

To prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19 between the children of this orphanage, the team of young volunteers of R-Evolution provided training and everything needed to wash hands properly, including the most obvious but often also the least available. The intervention has been conducted with the relevant Sierra Leone’s Ministry (MSWGCA).

The orphanage was founded in 2000 by sisters Sankoh, who, having survived from the atrocities of the decade-long civil war in Sierra Leone, began to take care of war orphans and abandoned children in the streets in the following years.

L’iniziativa “Bolla di sapone contro il Coronavirus” è arrivata Savior of the World Children’s Home, presso Fire Mambo, a Waterloo, nella zona rurale di Freetown, capitale della Sierra Leone.

L’orfanotrofio è stato fondato negli anni 2000 dalle sorelle Sankoh, che, salvatesi dalle atrocità della decennale guerra civile in Sierra Leone, iniziarono ad occuparsi degli orfani della guerra e dei bambini abbandonati nelle strade negli anni seguenti.

The Fountain of Hope Children’s Home orphanage was built by Pastor Obi in 2006 to provide a safe home for abandoned and often abused children, and to provide for their growth, education, family reunification where possible, and inclusion in society.
L’iniziativa “Bolla di sapone contro il Coronavirus” è arrivata all’orfanotrofio Fountain of Hope Children’s Home, a Atagbeh town in Waterloo, nella zona rurale di Freetown, capitale della Sierra Leone.

The initiative “Soap bubble against Coronavirus” arrived at Mercy Children’s Orphange and bakery, at New London in Waterloo, in the rural area of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.
The team of young volunteers of R-Evolution Sierra Leone provided with everything needed to wash hands properly, including the most obvious but often also the least available, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19 between the children of this orphanage.
The vision towards the establishment of Mercy Children’s Orphanage children came about during the years of international humanitarian work the founder and coordinator, Emmanuel Sajor Shaw. Emmanuel had a dream of opening an orphanage and caring for children in his native Sierra Leone, and in 2005 the doors of the home were opened to different categories of children ranging from: abandoned children, street connected children, abused children and children separated or unaccompanied.
Important for the self-sustainability for this orphanage was the envision to add the business of a bakery, animal farm and a poultry farm to raise resources for running the home.

Il team di giovani volontari di R-Evolution Sierra Leone ha fornito tutto il necessario per lavarsi le mani correttamente, incluso ciò che può sembrare il più ovvio ma che spesso è anche il meno disponibile, per prevenire la diffusione di malattie infettive come il covid-19 tra i bambini di questo orfanotrofio.
Il desiderio di costruire il Mercy Children’s Orphange è nato durante gli anni di lavoro umanitario internazionale del fondatore e coordinatore, Emmanuel Sajor Shaw. Infatti Emmanuel sognava di aprire un orfanotrofio e di prendersi cura dei bambini nella sua nativa Sierra Leone, e nel 2005 le porte della casa sono state aperte a diverse categorie di bambini che vanno da: bambini abbandonati, bambini di strada, bambini maltrattati e bambini separati o non accompagnati.
Importante per l’autosostenibilità di questo orfanotrofio è stata l’iniziativa di aggiungere l’attività di panetteria, un piccolo allevamento per animali e pollame, per raccogliere risorse per gestire la casa.

R-Evolution Sierra Leone organize new missions to support orphanages against Coronavirus

The team of young volunteers of R-Evolution Sierra Leone has completed the renewal of the registrations at the ministries of Sierra Leone in order to organize new missions to reach the orphanages of the country and bring the initiative “Soap bubbles against coronavirus” where there is it is most needed.

Il team di giovani volontari di R-Evolution Sierra Leone ha completato il rinnovo delle registrazioni presso i ministeri della Sierra Leone al fine di organizzare nuove missioni per raggiungere gli orfanotrofi del paese e portare l’iniziativa “Bolle di sapone contro il coronavirus” dove c’è più bisogno.

The “Soap bubbles against coronavirus” initiative arrived at the Grace Village orphanage, Sierra Leone

The “Soap bubbles against coronavirus” initiative arrived at the Grace Village children home, located at Tissana Russel village (rural area of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone). To prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19, the children of this orphanage have been provided with face masks and everything needed to wash their hands properly, including the most obvious but often also the least available.
The home was established Mary Bangura and her husband, after that in 2015 the Ebola outbreak claimed many lives, included parents, leaving children alone.

A special recognition goes to the team of volunteers: young women and men, brave enough to travel during the pandemic to reach orphanages in the remote rural area. Their extraordinary endeavour is attracting the interest of other African countries, and they will soon be called to share their experiences so that “Bubbles soap against coronavirus” can reach other orphanages in Africa.

L’iniziativa “Bolle di sapone contro il coronavirus” è arrivata all’orfanotrofio di Grace Village, situato nel villaggio di Tissana Russel (area rurale di Freetown, capitale della Sierra Leone). Per prevenire la diffusione di malattie infettive come il covid-19, i bambini di questo orfanotrofio sono stati donate mascherine per il viso e di tutto il necessario per lavarsi le mani correttamente, incluso ciò che è più ovvio ma che spesso è anche il meno disponibile.
L’orfanotrofio è stata fondato da Mary Bangura e suo marito, dopo che nel 2015 l’epidemia di Ebola causò molte vittime, fra le quali spesso i genitori di bambini rimasti soli.

Un riconoscimento speciale va al team di volontari: giovani donne e uomini, così coraggiosi da viaggiare durante la pandemia per raggiungere gli orfanotrofi nella remota area rurale. Il loro straordinario impegno sta attirando l’interesse di altri paesi africani e saranno presto chiamati a condividere le loro esperienze in modo che “Bolle di sapone contro il coronavirus” possa raggiungere altri orfanotrofi in Africa.

To prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19, the children of this orphanage have been provided with face masks and everything needed to wash their hands properly, including the most obvious but often also the least available.
This orphanage was established by Alpha Bangura in 2006, inspired by his deep religiousness.

L’iniziativa “Bolle di sapone contro il coronavirus” è arrivata alla Mercy Home for children, situata a Waterloo, Benguema Road (area rurale di Freetown, capitale della Sierra Leone). Per prevenire la diffusione di malattie infettive come il covid-19, i bambini di questo orfanotrofio sono stati dotati di maschere per il viso e di tutto il necessario per lavarsi le mani correttamente, incluso ciò che è più ovvio ma che spesso è invece il meno disponibile.
Questo orfanotrofio è stato fondato da Alpha Bangura nel 2006, ispirato alla sua profonda religiosità.

The “Soap bubbles against coronavirus” initiative arrived at the Alisco Orphanage, located in Morabie road, Joe town, near Waterloo (rural area of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone), where, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as covid-19, the children have bee provided with face masks and everything needed to wash their hands properly.
This orphanage was established by Fatmata Alisco Kamara, who is a business woman. Fatmata is a woman who made her way into the business world with courage and tenacity, thus founding a supermarket chain. But Fatmata has not forgotten her roots, and with the same courage and tenacity, she started helping street children with food and clothes, and then building an home for them.

L’iniziativa “Bolle di sapone contro il coronavirus” è arrivata all’Alisco Orphange, situato sulla Morabie Road, Joe town, vicino a Waterloo (area rurale di Freetown, capitale della Sierra Leone), dove, per prevenire la diffusione di malattie infettive come covid-19, ai bambini sono state fornite maschere per il viso e tutto il necessario per lavarsi le mani correttamente.
Questo orfanotrofio è stato fondato da Fatmata Alisco Kamara. Fatmata è una donna che si è fatta strada nel mondo degli affari con coraggio e tenacia, fondando una catena di supermercati. Ma Fatmata non ha dimenticato le sue radici e, con lo stesso coraggio e tenacia, ha iniziato ad aiutare i bambini di strada prima con cibo e vestiti, e poi costruendo una casa per loro.
